Style Sheet Property Descriptions

We find that many of our clients already have an idea of how they would like their property description to look and feel (even if they don’t realize it!). It’s our job to make sure we get as close to that ideal as possible.

Below are 5 sample property descriptions we have written for different vacation rental companies. Which one speaks to you? Or, you can choose to to mix and match elements of each option.

Once you’ve identified your favorite, select it on the Q&A form.

Hint: Totally lost or short on time? We’re  happy to choose a tone and style for you and explain the reasoning behind our choice.

1. Short & Poetic #

Key features:
Travel magazine style copy. Well-suited for sharp, professional websites. Best for high-end properties or those with exceptional stories

History breathes life into one of Paris’s grandest apartments, at its most exquisite address on the Place des Vosges.

In the 16th century, Charles IX built this home for his mistress, Marie Touchet. Four hundred years later, master designer Jacques Grange undertook a rare residential project, layering his vision onto the storied space. “In this apartment,” says Grange, “I woke up the beauty.”

In the winter salon, damask wallpaper and gold gilt mirrors accentuate a 400-year-old chandelier. In the summer salon, soaring ceilings and shimmering cream silk remind of hundreds of years of sultry, intrigue-filled evenings.

By all means, lose yourself in the masterful interiors, but be sure to also look outward to the pearl of Paris—the Place des Vosges—on full display. For centuries, the city’s most important people have converged in this square. Gaze over the linden trees and wonder: Who else might have swept through these rooms, their stories unfolding between these walls?

2. Fun & Lighthearted #

Key features:
Doesn’t take itself too seriously!
Works for listings sites and websites equally well.
Establishes a personal connection — good for owner-managed properties and small property managers.
Great for laid-back beach properties!

Do you like pina coladas and gigantic outdoor pools? How about sand between your toes and a huge, gorgeous sea stretching out before you?

Whisk away your worries at Gulfside Unit 209, where you’ll find yourself just steps from the warm waters of the Gulf Coast and the shops and restaurants of Okaloosa Island.

Why This Unit?

Let us count the reasons: Because it’s gulf-front. Because it’s got a killer view of the sugar-sand beaches and the knock-you-out blue water. Because you can whip up a batch of strawberry daiquiris in the well-equipped kitchen to enjoy on your gorgeous patio. Because flip-floppin’ to the beach feels like the best walk you’ve made in years.

Kids will love the bunk room and you’ll adore the peaceful master bedroom complete with beachy décor and a big, comfy king-size bed. Two more can claim the sleeper sofa in the living room, and ceiling fans in each bedroom help to keep you comfortable.

Two full bathrooms ensure flawless sunscreen application before you hit the pool and quick post-beach showers before you hit the town.

Do you enjoy lugging massive suitcases? If not, there’s a washer and dryer in the unit to help you pack a bit lighter.

Amenities, Amenities, Amenities

They’re so good that we said it three times. Destin West is known for its impeccable perks. Huge gulf-side pool? Check. Kiddie pools? Yep. Generously sized hot tub? We’ve got three! Start off the day pumping iron in the sleek state-of-the-art fitness center, and then spend the morning floating on the long lazy river as it winds around the palm trees.

Fab Location on Okaloosa Island at Destin West

You’re pretty much in the heart of it all here. And by “it all” we mean everything from picturesque sand dunes to restaurants and nightclubs to the Gulfarium, and nature trails for biking and jogging.

Make your own wake when you rent a jet ski or channel your inner Misty May on one of the outdoor volleyball courts. After that you’ll probably want to visit Okaloosa Island’s The Boardwalk and stuff yourself silly with all-you-can-eat shrimp at Floyd’s Shrimp House, where flip-flops are practically part of the dress code.

If that sounds like heaven…it is. And we’ve got good news: We can help you make your flip-floppin’, daquiri-sippin’ dreams come true. Book with us today!

Inside the House

This traditional Cape Cod house is welcoming and home-like, just as a beach house should be.

The living room—with its wood-burning fireplace and couch seating for 5—is the main gathering place. You’ll find a TV with cable in the living area. Plus, there are TVs in all four bedrooms, so the whole group can watch their favorites.

This home sleeps 8 and is perfect for two families with kids traveling together, thanks to its unique layout with 2 bedrooms on the main floor, 2 more upstairs, and one full bath on each floor.

One main-floor bedroom has a queen size bed, and the other has two twins. Upstairs, one bedroom has twin beds plus a queen-size futon, the other a double bed.

Both bathrooms—upstairs and down—have showers, and the downstairs bath has a tub, as well. There’s also an outdoor shower for washing off the sand after the beach.

The eat-in kitchen sits right off the living room, with lots of cabinets and all appliances. Its dining table seats 6. The kitchen and dining space are open to the living room, so you can still enjoy the ambiance of the fire and long conversations over fresh-caught New England seafood.

Or take your feast to the huge deck. The outdoor dining space seats 6 and has lots of other seating, too. The home’s wooded surroundings are quiet and secluded. Step down to an area for a game of horseshoes, or grab a book and sink into the hammock strung between two trees.

The Location

Bring your bikes: this house is close to Cape Cod National Seashore, and biking there on our quiet roads is a real treat. Or check out the Salt Pond Visitors Center, with its beautiful bike/hiking path through Nauset Marsh that leads directly to the Coast Guard Beach.

Check into our recently updated, quaint property on the North Sea Harbor for a lovely waterside vacation. Outfitted with a cedar shake exterior, exposed brick walls and wood inside, and a yard full of wildflowers, we created The Waterside Escape to elevate the cottage life to a whole new level.

Lovingly chosen antiques, several unique collections, and an old-fashioned fireplace make this the ideal escape from the noise and commotion of life in the city.

Four cozy bedrooms and three bathrooms (including a covered, outdoor clawfoot tub) welcome up to nine guests to crisp linens, ample sunlight and plenty of space to spread out and get comfortable.

Spend time hunkered down with a book in the relaxed living room (or stream Netflix to your own device over the free Wifi). Linger over a long breakfast in the cabin-like dining room, where sunlight spills through the floor-to-ceiling windows. We love to spend long evenings here, chatting with family and friends over a dinner from the gourmet kitchen and a bottle of wine.

Though you’re sure to fall in love with The Waterside Escape’s interior, chances are you’ll spend ample time outdoors, as well. Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail on a private porch overlooking the Harbor, which is all yours to explore.

The Waterside Escape makes it easy to avoid any traffic or commotion, but it’s also central to many Hamptons beaches, restaurants, shops and bars for a day or an evening out on the town.
